Prim Perfect will be hosting a series of Linden Talks at SL15B this year from Monday – Friday at 2pm in the SS Crystal Auditorium, providing an opportunity for you to meet various Lindens and hear their stories – about themselves and Second Life!
The talks are as follows:
XIOLA LINDEN

As Lead Community Manager, Xiola Linden heads up community initiatives at Linden Lab – including this year’s Official Second Life 15th Birthday Music Fest, Inworld Shopping Extravaganza, and other Official Birthday events. Xiola joined Linden Lab in 2011 from a social gaming company where she managed the community management and customer support teams, but became a Resident back in 2006. Currently she handles all things social media and community related for Second Life and can be found shopping, checking out live music, and exploring the grid.

PATCH LINDEN
A Resident himself since 2004, Patch was born into Second Life in September of 2007. As the Senior Director of Product Operations, Patch works to bring the best of product and support based decisions on a daily operational basis to the virtual world platform for Second Life, while maintaining oversight on how all of the various teams within Linden Lab can best work together for the highest good of the Residents and the business.
KEIRA LINDEN
In May of 2007, Keira received an email saying a little known author with a cult following was going to be reading from his upcoming book in Second Life, complete with an avatar based on a character from that book that his readers had chosen. After logging in to attend the event, she was hooked and eventually became involved in several in world charity groups and helped run several large successful fundraising events.
In 2008, she became a Linden and was a member of the Concierge Team for three years. She had to leave the Lab in 2011, but just couldn’t stay away. In 2014 she returned as a member of the Land Team, and after a short stint as Concierge Supervisor, is now Product Operations Supervisor and oversees the Land Team.

EBBE LINDEN
Ebbe Altberg came to Linden Lab with more than 25 years of experience leading teams and creating software used by hundreds of millions of users. After graduating from Middlebury College he went on to work at Microsoft, where he spent most of his 12 years leading teams that created the world’s most popular productivity products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office.

OZ LINDEN
Oz spent many years in development of all sorts of networking code, eventually including contributions to the development of HTTP and open source SIP (voice over IP). Building telephone systems (even over the Net) was pretty pedestrian, so he looked around for something more fun to get involved in. A friend at the Lab recruited him to help with the open source viewer program management. That lead to various improvements to how we build viewers and other jobs, culminating in his current role managing all of Second Life Engineering and Platform Operations.
GRUMPITY LINDEN
Grumpity has been working on Second Life since late 2009 but only became a Linden in 2014. Still learning new things about the world of Second Life nearly every day of this crazy ride. Today she is Director of Product, spending a lot of time thinking about the long-term roadmap and overall direction, as well as keeping a finger in every pot, and helping various teams at Linden work together – Engineering, QA, Marketing, Ops, Finance, Product Ops, Compliance … there are a lot of groups working in concert to keep Second Life vibrant, viable, and exciting.
Grumpity started out with a degree in Psych and another in Computer Science, and has worked in many industries: Higher Ed, Oil & Gas, and tech companies large and small, before finding herself enthralled and trapped in this amazing world.

BRETT LINDEN
Brett Atwood (Brett Linden) is Senior Marketing Manager at Linden Lab, where he helps with multiple marketing initiatives for Second Life. He also teaches various communication and media courses at a major university as an associate professor.
He will be bringing to the discussion over a decade of senior management experience as a website editorial lead and content development strategist for companies including Amazon.com, Linden Lab, RealNetworks, and Billboard magazine.
Brett’s background also includes demonstrated experience in interactive storytelling, social media persuasion and evaluation tools using multimedia and virtual reality content across multiple platforms.
