Designing Worlds discovers Genealogy in Second Life

In this episode we explore one of the most popular topics on the internet … at least it was in the early days. For behind sex and shopping in the internet stakes came … genealogy!

Genealogy has been a major interest in Second Life since the very beginning of the platform, and we talk to some of the people who represent a number of the organisations active in the field in-world, from the Second Life Virtual Genealogical Society to the LDS – the Church of the Latter-Day Saints – who are deeply involved in providing free genealogical information in-world and out. And many of the people we talk to are actively involved in genealogy in both worlds too.

The episode introduces some of the resources and organisations in Second Life and gives you some starting points if you want to begin to find out about your family history.
