Designing Worlds explores Winter Wonderlands in Second Life (now on the web!)

In this, our final new episode for 2019, we explore Winter Wonderlands around the grid with a special trip to the Christmas Expo for Relay for Life!

DW412 – SL Winter Places 2019 from Richard Elen on Vimeo.

We visit the Christmas Expo to see the stores and designs there, and take a sleigh ride with Trader Whiplash and Nuala Maracas to see the Lights of Hope – houses decorated for Christmas by the designers – and also tour the Linden Lights of Hope – which were houses decorated by the Lindens and the Moles (tinies – look out for the waffle mountain and syrup lake at 25.37).

We also visit some of the fabulous Winter Places on show in Second Life, including Russian fairytale-like Warm Angel and the recreation of the Austrian town of Gosau created by two real-life farmers who live in the area, and the Bells of Rhymney which mixes a Rivendell-like atmosphere with Baroque architecture.

And we include two extensive slideshows by Wildstar Beaumont which cover some locations we weren’t able to visit in person.
