In this episode, Designing Worlds explores one of the most popular topics on the internet … at least it was in the early days. For behind sex and shopping in the internet stakes came … genealogy!
DW411 – SL Genealogy from Richard Elen on Vimeo.
Genealogy has been a major interest in Second Life since the very beginning of the platform, and we talk to some of the people who represent a number of the organisations active in the field in-world, from the Second Life Virtual Genealogical Society to the LDS – the Church of the Latter-Day Saints – who are deeply involved in providing free genealogical information in-world and out. And many of the people we talk to are actively involved in genealogy in both worlds too – including Sifriya Devin, Ellington Sweeney, Clarise Beaumont and Skyler Goode .

The episode introduces some of the resources and organisations in Second Life and gives you some starting points if you want to begin to find out about your family history.
